Allison Rein (she/her) serves as the Executive Producer of Initial Conditions and is the Associate Director of Library Collections & Services. She manages the library collection at the Niels Bohr Library & Archives where she oversees book donations, new and rare book acquisitions, cataloging of library materials, and reference. Since 2018, when the Library obtained the Wenner Collection, she’s worked diligently to make the collection accessible through processing, cataloging, digitization, and outreach. The Initial Conditions Podcast is her brainchild, but Maura and Justin have brought it to life (if Allison had her way the podcast would be 100% about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire or the Radium Girls). Allison has a B.A. in history from UMBC and an MLS from the University of Maryland, College Park.
