Electronic Copyediting (eCE) Support Specialist — NY

Brief description of job duties

Assume overall responsibility for eXtyles/eCE support activities in Publishing Services. Provide support and assistance to copyeditors and production teams regarding eXtyles/eCE-related functions. Oversee and troubleshoot questions regarding the receipt of eXtyles-created XML. Work with Support Team members with Tex2Word and Word clean-up conversion work for use in eXtyles. Work with Support Team members, CE's and vendors with eXtyles training, scheduling, and implementation. Configure eXtyles for new journals/journal groups. Liaise between AIP and Inera regarding broader problems, issues, and development. Maintain weekly status report.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent related work experience. Minimum 5 years work experience in an XML/SGML publishing environment required, with an in-depth knowledge of XML/SGML and MS Word and MathType. Ability to use an XML/SGML editor required, as well as the ability to read a DTD. Familiarity with the copyediting process and production workflow is essential. Must be highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work well in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required.
